We do love our Monday School, because it is a group based in our church for the parents and carers of the younger children in our community these are aged from birth to school age.
The group is run by members of our church family in order that parents and carers of younger children can meet other families and their children in order to share friendship, fellowship, gossip, chat and even time for prayer.
We meet on a fortnightly basis on Monday afternoons from 2pm, normally finishing by 3:20pm. We usually meet in the small room at the back of church, because this helps us to create a warm
welcoming friendly and secure environment, where the children feel relaxed and confident.
On arrival the children play for about an hour, but there is also the option of taking part in a craft or colouring based activity. We have a variety of toys, which come out on a rotational basis, this keeps the children interested.
While the children play parents can take time to chat with one another and enjoy a cup of tea or coffee. Juice and a biscuit are provided for the children and although we make no charge for Monday school or the refreshments you are free to make a donation for these if you so wish.
After about an hour we move to the Lady Chapel, this is situated at the front of church and here we have a story from the bible, this is usually based on the Gospel reading that we have heard in Church on the Sunday before and then we sing some songs. These range from simple, fun religious songs to everyday nursery rhymes that the children request.
